National Crayon Day

It is National Crayon Day! What a beautiful sunny day to celebrate such color. 

This day also marks Crayola’s birthday, couldn’t be more fitting!

  • The first Crayola crayons box only cost a nickel 
    1. It was made in 1903 and consisted of 8 colors. Now a traditional pack contains 24 colors
  • The name Crayola was coined by Alice Binney, the wife of one of the company’s founders
  • One of Crayola’s workers of 35 years was color blind
  • The average child wears down 720 crayons by their tenth birthday 
  • Crayola make 3 billion crayons a year
